optimism is a funny word if repeat it rather quickly

listening to the storm outside tonight reminded me of a night when i was in college.  It was a similar rainy stormy night and as i stared out the window i wondered why we don't thank God for rainy days.  Why don't we thank God for traffic jams or the guy in front of us at Target who insists on paying for his underwear with a handful of dimes.  I wondered why we don't take photos at funerals...  We take photos at other events when family and friends get together; why not take them to remember the last time you hung out with your loved ones?  I'm not trying to get all philosophical but remembering that night gave me an interesting optimism.  Realizing that we can't waste time being pissed off about things that don't really matter.  We should thank God for giving us that flat tire because we will never know what that flat tire may have prevented.  Its interesting for me to sit here and be able to say:  Yes life can be crappy sometimes...  but I'm glad its not easy

An uncomfortable day

Hi All!

KR here.  Well my first real post on this comes on a day that I feel like I'm 24 going on 85.  Had to stay home from work today because I threw my back out.  I wish I had a cool story like I was skydiving and my parachute didn't open... or I was jumping over a shark on water skis; but sadly I threw my back out somewhere between playing some B-Ball with my cousins and cutting the grass yesterday.  So I'm spending the day trying to be productive without injuring myself further...  

I started a new book yesterday, and haven't been able to put it down all day... until now obviously (would be pretty impressive if I could type while holding and reading a book.)  Anyway the book is called "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time."  I remember seeing it last year when I was working at the book store, but never picked it up...  I'll tell you all about it when I'm done with it. (which may be tonight)

I've been in a very creative mood lately and have been picking up some unfinished songs from the past few years to try and finish them...  I'm not going to make any promises about time frames for any new releases, but will tell you I'm hoping to have the live CD out some time this summer; and start the new project in the fall.  I'll be sure to keep everyone posted!
